The Heart of Digital Conversion is CD Ripping, Encoding and Meta Data Tagging.
What you put IN...is what you get OUT.
Ripping
Ripping is the process of extracting raw musical data from your CD. Generally speaking, all CD's have some type of damage that will effect the way the musical data is read and ripped from the disk, from simple fingerprints to scratches and gouges. Since some form of damage is normal, our advanced error correction process, the best available, will auto C2 check and automatically modify the speed of the encode cycle to trap and read errors prior to encoding. We also use a Burst Mode check and Jitter Check using a zero sum threshold limit to ensure audio files are extracted and encoded without errors.
When the software gets to the point at which the musical data will be inaccurate or simply skipped, causing audible pops, it's set to reject the CD and designate it for repair.
- Your damaged CD is then sent to our in-house professional repair station and cycled back through the conversion process.
We at Yoesie want your Digital Music Library to be the very best it can be. We do everything we can to ensure your ripped files are the cleanest and the most accurate possible. Yes it takes longer to process your order, but it's done the Right Way.
Free Ground ShippingEncoding
Encoding changes the RAW data ripped from your CD during the ripping process, to a compressed digital audio file. This encoded digital file is what will play on your iPod or MP3 player.
Yoesie offers many different encoding formats, or codecs, including MP3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, WMA, FLAC, and Monkey's Audio. Each one varies in its approach to compression algorithms and accessibility and you can select which format you prefer during the ordering process.
Yoesie recommends, for the best overall sound, compression and accessibility that you choose MP3 192kbps for use on your iPod or other portable MP3 player...and then optionally encode a second format using FLAC to create a Lossless Archive to prepare for the future of music and to play in your media center.
Meta Data Tagging
While your new digital file is being encoded, it is simultaneously being "Tagged" with your CD's meta data. Meta Data is the information about that particular CD used to navigate a digital music collection and keep it organized. Think of it as the Dewey Decimal System for your new Digital Music Library.
Yoesie uses the best available meta data providers in the world, including the de facto standards for high quality data AMG, to professionally tag your new digital library.
Each digital file in your library will include:
- Artist Name
- Album
- Track Title and Number
- Genre
- Album Art
- Publisher
- Year Published
- Composer (classical genre)
- Conductor (classical genre)
- Compilation Information (individual track artists for compilation/soundtrack albums)
From classical musical to bluegrass, speed metal and books on CD...Yoesie can tag it.
